Each year over 2,500 youths are admitted into hospital emergency rooms for near-drowning incidents and accidents. Almost half of these incidents result in need for hospitalization and over 300 cases result in death. The majority of near-drowning incidents occur in residential pools. Because drowning can occur in just seconds and without noise or sign of a struggle, active adult supervision is critical. As you know, drownings are silent and only take seconds.
